A LITTER pick in Lydiard was organised by Asda.
As part of the supermarket’s Community Life initiative, staff from the West Swindon store organised their first litter pick at Lydiard Park.
Staff from the North Swindon hypermarket also took part, as well as some Swindon Council staff and a handful of members of the public.
Asda Community Life champion Jan Kilby said: “We’re helping out because it’s everybody’s community.
“Lydiard Park is used by the whole of Swindon, not just West Swindon, and we are doing our bit to help the park rangers “Community spirit is really high because of the Jubilee and Olympics, and we really need to build off of the back of it.
“This is a good time to emphasise that we can make where we live a better place.”
The Asda Community Life initiative started in March, and the firm says it intends to arrange a string of community events and hopes have litter picks at Lydiard every three months.
