Seven arrested after club brawl
4:10pm Monday 17th September 2012 in News
SEVEN men have been arrested following a disturbance outside Tiger Bills nightclub this morning.
The trouble began when Tiger Bills in Hoopers Place, Old Town, reached capacity and door staff tried to stop anyone else going in.
Clubbers who were upset that friends outside were not being allowed entry threw chairs and bottles and kicked emergency doors.
Everyone was asked to leave and the disorder continued outside the Newport Street club.
Police were called to the scene by security staff and the seven men, all from the Swindon area, were arrested for public order offences.
One officer who was assisting in an arrest received an injury to the head, possibly caused by a weapon. The officer did not require medical treatment.
Wiltshire Police will review CCTV from the area as part of their investigation into the assault on the officer and the general disorder.
The suspects, whose ages range from 18 to 24, were interviewed at Gablecross Police Station and have been released on police bail.
Anyone who witnessed the disorder is asked to contact Swindon CID Wiltshire on 101. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
