A neighbourly way to help community in Royal Wootton Bassett
9:43am Wednesday 26th September 2012 in News
PEOPLE who need help at home, have trouble with transport or would like some company are invited to join Link 6 and Royal Wootton Bassett’s Good Neighbour Scheme.
The service, which runs in communities across the area, is extending to include Royal Wootton Bassett on January 16.
A spokesman said: “Link 6 Schemes are hugely successful and unique volunteer run groups, based in local communities that offer help with transport and small tasks such as collecting prescriptions, shopping and calling in for a chat.
“These valuable schemes provide a service which enables many people to live safe, comfortable, fulfilling and independent lives.”
People who want to volunteer for the group are invited to get in touch.
Volunteer roles include collecting prescriptions, reading to somebody, calling in for a chat, helping with a trip to the hairdresser or helping people visit family and friends.Call 07879 394666 for details.
