REGGAE legend Bob Marley is among the heroes and heroines celebrated in a play to mark Black History Month in October.
Gazebo Theatre present their new show Jamaica 50 at the Arts centre on Tuesday, produced in celebration and commemoration of Jamaica’s golden anniversary of independence. Set on the eve of Independence Day, against the backdrop of international celebrations and one amazing 100m men’s final, the play sees national heroes Marcus Garvey, Queen Nanny and Bob Marley come together to tell their account of the Jamaican story.
Told with truth, humour, drama, reggae music, the show features Sylvester Williams, most well-known for his long-running role in EastEnders.
Featuring as the heroines of the play is Tonia Daley-Campbell, who has having recently returned from a reggae tour of Spain.
The play is touring nationally and will be in Swindon on Tuesday (October 2).
