Man injured during incident in Ferndale in August

WILTSHIRE Police have issued a fresh appeal for information following an attempted robbery in Swindon, which left the victim needing hospital treatment.

It happened on August 27 at 11.10pm at the entrance to the underpass near Iffley Road.

A lone 49-year-old man was walking home from the town centre towards the Ferndale area when he was attacked by three male youths.

The victim was pushed to the floor from behind before being punched and kicked a number of times in the face while the youths tried to grab the rucksack from his back.

The attackers ran off towards the town centre.

The victim received deep cuts to the left of his face as well as swelling and bruising which required hospital treatment.

The offenders are described as white males, aged between 18 and 19.

The first was 5ft 9in tall, of slim build wearing a t-shirt and jeans with a blue plaster cast on his right arm.

The second was about 6ft 2in tall, wearing a grey hoodie with lighter trim and a baseball cap.

The third was described as about 5ft 2in tall, wearing a dark hoodie and trousers.
