A PHYSIOTHERAPIST from Prospect Hospice is raising funds for the charity by holding a ‘girly’ event next week.

Dorinda Moffatt, 32, is hosting a Feel Good Fair and Fashion Show.

The show will take place at the Ellendune Centre on Friday, October 12, from 7pm to 10pm.

Dorinda, from Wroughton, who has worked at the hospice for two years, said: “Working for a charity, it can be difficult to ask your colleagues to sponsor you, so I looked to do something different.

“With the help of local businesses and colleagues from the hospice, I decided to put on an event of our own, which the community can come and support.

“We have had lots of items donated and support from businesses, and every penny raised will go towards the hospice. I am hoping to raise at least £1,000.”

The fashion show, which includes clothes supplied by Chic Boutique and the hospice’s own charity shops, will feature models from the ranks of the hospice’s staff and volunteers.

Therapists from the hospice will also be on hand to provide complementary sessions for just £5 each.

There will also be stalls with ideal Christmas gifts, and refreshments including wine.

Dorinda said: “The event is going to be a real girly night, and it is also the culmination of our activity during the National Hospice Care week, which runs from October 8 to 14.

“The theme of the week is ‘Be Surprised’, and I think from the showcase of our show, people will definitely pick up a sense that a hospice is perhaps more than they necessarily expected it to be.

“There is a brilliant team here. I think when you tell people you work at the hospice, it has a slight prestige and it is surprising how many people have some kind of relationship with the facility.”

Tickets for the show, priced £5, must be purchased in advance from reception at Prospect Hospice in Wroughton or visit www.justgiving.com/feelgoodfair.

Dorinda will also join Prospect’s Firewalk, on Sunday, October 28, to raise further funds.
