PEDAL power has helped to raise thousands of pounds for Prospect Hospice.

Four managers from South Marston Distribution Company cycled around the perimeter of their warehouse for 24 hours from Saturday until Sunday.

They covered a total of 570 miles, raising about £2,000 for the Wroughton-based charity.

General manager of South Marston DC Steve Gopal said: “For the last four years the managers have got together and raised money for local charities. This weekend we decided to do a 24 hour cycle run around our warehouse, all the way around the perimeter.”

The perimeter is about half a mile in total and they continued the challenge non-stop for the whole 24 hours. Steve took part alongisde health and safety manager Paul Ives, operations manager Paul Starling, ICT manager Gary Stewart.

“Quite a few of our associates have benefited from the Prospect Hospice personally or their friends have. We thought it would be nice just to raise some money for them,” said Steve.

“My kids camped through the night there just to cheer us on.”
