A SELF-storage company with two centres in Swindon raised £375 when it held a car-boot sale and fete last month.
Lok ‘n’ Store held the event on September 29 at Rushy Platt Industrial Estate and the money went to Parkinson’s UK Swindon, the firm’s charity of the year. Lok ‘n’ Store’s other self-storage facility on Elgin Industrial Estate also supports Parkinson’s UK Swindon branch. Linda Duthie, the chairman of Parkinson’s UK Swindon, said: “We enjoyed a great day with Lok ‘n’ Store. We had 15 cars at the car-boot sale, plus a tombola, raffle, a sale of handicrafts and greetings cards. A demonstration of African Drumming also took place.”
Lok ‘n’ Store’s Geoff Horton said: “It was a great way to utilise some great space in our car park and I am delighted the day went so well.”
