SPRING in Covingham will be brighter than ever thanks to the forward planning of some local pupils.
Members of Covingham Park Junior School planted dozens of daffodil bulbs with the help of the parish council yesterday.
The blooms will appear next to trees that were planted 18 months ago in Covingham Park.
Covingham Parish Council clerk, Glyn Harris, said: "They were very helpful.
"We asked the school a few weeks ago if they wanted to help and they agreed.
"The chairman Doug Haigh was there, as well as our handyman who gave them some assistance."
The parish council normally plant bulbs around the Covingham estate itself, but it welcomes help from the schools.
Glyn said: "If we can get pupils from local schools involved it's the best thing to do.
"Next spring, there will be a lovely collection of flowers beneath the trees for everyone to enjoy."
