Evil Twin helps youg people with a stammer

Swindon iPhone developers evil twin artworks, working in conjunction with the Fluency Trust, have taught young stammerers from Swindon how to make an iPhone App.

The app entitled “The Stammurai” is about a young Sammurai, the best in his class, who has conquered all his demons except one, his stammer. So one day he decides to go on a quest to find his voice and become the hero he always wanted to be.

The app has exceed all expectations with its download figures hitting nearly 1,000 in its first three weeks and is currently being played by people in more than 30 countries.

evil.twin.artworks is a multimedia studio based in Swindon and for ten years has worked on professional projects for companies like the BBC, Granada Television, CITV, Channel 4, Dyson and Sony, among many others.

To create this App the young people needed to master advanced software, understand production workflows and work as a team.

“We were impressed at the level of dedication and professionalism for such a young team” said Mark Carroll lead developer from evil twin artworks.

One of the participants Keira Marshall said: “My parents were excited about the whole thing.

“They think it is an amazing thing that people of our age have the chance to do something like this. I am proud to say that i have been part of a project that has made a Iphone/ipod app, that will be put on the app shop so that people all around the world can look at it!“ Made by young people 13-18 who struggle every day with speech fluency issues, the stammurai was made thanks to Mediabox, a UK fund that helps young people make media projects and is now available for free on the app store, so if you have an iPhone or iPod touch please show your support and download it.
