Wootton Bassett Arts Festival kicks off today with various musical classes to watch or take part in.
The festival has been split in two with music categories performing in June and arts and drama taking place in November.
The musical section offers workshops in various genres to the public to give everyone the chance to try out new skills or show off the talent they already have.
It culminates in a finale concert on Sunday which will showcase the best talent.
The workshops have all been fully booked but the public are still welcome to attend.
Tickets cost £2.50 for a day ticket or £4 for a season ticket to see all of the shows.
The festivities begin at 6.30pm at St Bartholomew’s and All Saints’ Church with folk song workshops.
Singing classes in spiritual, opera and choir take place from 7.15pm.
Throughout tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday there will be classes in musicals and film, piano, string, brass, woodwind and modern pop songs.
The highlights concert takes place at the Memorial Hall at 6.30pm on Sunday. Entry is free.
It has also been announced this week that award-winning short film writer and director David Hawk will be holding a free workshop from 10.30am to 12.30pm on August 6 to introduce a new short-film category to the festival agenda.
Films up to six minutes long can be entered in the arts festival in November. The films can be on any subject but must be original work.
