The deadline for investing in Wiltshire Wildlife Community Energy has been extended, with a target of £2.7m to build the Braydon Manor Farm solar project at its half-way point.
Potential investors in the north Wiltshire scheme now have until January 23, 2015.
The 5 MWp solar array, developed by Swindon Commercial Services, has planning permission to generate electricity for the equivalent of 1,400 average homes.
Lesley Bennett, chairman of WWCE, said: “This will become the largest community-owned solar scheme in the UK, something we think all Wiltshire residents could be proud of.”
An information event is being held at Trowbridge Civic Centre on January 15 from 6.30pm.
