Opening Your Mind is the watchword of the Swindon Chamber of Commerce which is being pushed by various events organised by the chamber.
The chamber is one of eight in the Thames Valley group and they held a business breakfast at the Swindon Marriott hotel.
Lead speaker was Bernard Harrington of Banks BHG accountants which employs 30 people in Swindon and his talk was on attracting and keeping talented staff.
"Four years ago we had 18 people on the books but have increased number since then.
"It is essential to keep good staff and you need the right image, have good training and open door policy.
"On top of that we provide pensions, we are part of the community and we support local charities.
"When you get this right you have a low turnover among staff and of course you save money."
Chamber members from three other speakers on their recruitment policies.
The next Chamber breakfast will be at the Marriott on Friday November 13.
