Westbury-based bookkeeping company Busy Books hopes to continue its award-winning run, with accounts assistant Chrystal Penny in line to win the “Bookkeeper of the Year” title at the House of Commons on December 10.
Currently in only its third year of trading, Busy Books was shortlisted as Wiltshire Business of the Year in 2014 and hopes to build on this promising start.
21-year-old Chrystal joined the firm almost two years ago, hoping to develop her business skills.
“I believed the best way to understand business was to work in a role at the heart of it such as a bookkeeper, so that’s exactly what I set out to do," she said.
Within two years, Chrystal has gained IAB and AAT qualifications and is now hoping to scoop the title at the awards, hosted by the International Association of Book-keepers.
“My aim is not only to demonstrate the excellent standard of service provided by Busy Books, but also to inspire other bookkeepers in my local area”, she said. “I hope I’ve shown that hard work and determination can be acknowledged at the highest level."
