One of the UK’s fastest growing and largest privately owned insurance brokers has confirmed plans to open a new office in Swindon which is set to create up to 350 jobs in the next three years.

Be Wiser Insurance currently employs more than 700 people at its headquarters in Andover, Hampshire and says the new facility in Swindon will be key to its ongoing expansion plans.

The company has signed a lease on 10,000 sq ft of offices in York House at Edison Park and will open in approximately three months time once IT and fitting out works are complete.

Financial director, Andrew Dunkerley, said: “We have known for some time that we needed to choose a new location for the future expansion and growth of the business and Swindon fits the bill perfectly.”

Be Wiser has worked with Forward Swindon to identify and secure new offices which are set to employ several hundred people as the insurance broker continues to expand.

Andrew, who lives in Shrivenham, said: “We are looking forward to being able to recruit from a new employment pool and we will shortly be on the look-out for bright, motivated staff of all ages. Our ability to be able to offer training all the way through the Chartered Insurance Institute professional qualifications is unique for a business of our size and demonstrates the importance we place on each and every member of staff.”

He added: “Our Andover based staff and offices will continue without any changes and we view Swindon as being best-placed to cope with our future anticipated staff number expansion.”

Said Paul Britton, the chief executive of the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce which includes Swindon said: "We are delighted that Be Wiser has chosen to open a new office in Swindon. "Many businesses, particularly in financial services, are attracted to the town by its location and particularly by the pool of talent available. We wish Be Wiser every success with the expansion.” Be Wiser was the Match Ball sponsor at Swindon Town FC for the team’s home match recently and was delighted to be hosting representatives from both the Council and Forward Swindon ahead of the new office announcement.
