CMS SupaTrak, the Swindon-based vehicle telematics company, has been shortlisted for a natinal award.

The coverted Chartered Institute of Waste Management Award (CIWM) recognises outstanding achievements in the sustainability, resource and waste industry.

CMS are finalists in the Best Innovation in Vehicle, Plant and Equipment category for their embedded HGV telematics system that is reducing fuel consumption, cutting C02 emissions and extending the lifespan of commercial vehicles across the UK and Europe.

Jason Airey, MD of CMS SupaTrak, said he was delighted to be shortlisted. “The team at CMS SupaTrak work very hard to make sure that our software is always meeting the ever changing needs of both our customers and the latest environmental challenges. We know that our system is really making an impact on the use of the planet’s resources so I’m delighted that our work has been recognised. These awards are highly competitive so even to be shortlisted is a great achievement.”

The CIWM Awards are judged by the most respected experts in the sector and represent the highest level of achievement in the industry.

Earlier this year Jason Airey was appointed to The Waste Ambassador’s Group, a senior advisory group within the waste industry, which includes representatives from leading national and international businesses such as Dennis Eagle, Unilever UK, Jaguar-Landrover, Suez, BAM Construct and SITA UK.

Jason was invited to join the panel because the CIWM recognised that CMS SupaTrak shared their vision of implementing best practice in compliance and safety across the industry.

Speaking at the time Steve Lee, CEO, of CIWM said: “I am delighted that Jason is joining the Ambassadors Group. The strength of the group is that it represents the whole of the resources cycle and is very forward-looking. CMS SupaTrak fit that bill nicely, and I look forward to Jason’s contribution to our work”
