Regulatory Finance Solutions (RFS) today announced its investment into CybSafe – a leading cyber security software company based in Swindon.

In this ever-changing digital world, where smart technology is becoming the norm, hundreds of organisations and individuals fall victim to cyber-attacks. Traditional cyber defence mechanisms focus on technology and processes – few recognise the importance of, or actively address the human aspect, which is where CybSafe has capitalised on this market.

Devised and powered by proven cyber resilience and intelligence experts from the global counter-threat specialists, Torchlight Group, CybSafe is a cyber security company that uses intelligent software to change the way the individuals view and address cyber security in a bid to help people and businesses be more secure online.

The CybSafe software is supported by an educational programme that provides companies and their employees with an intuitive e-learning package. The cloud-based platform can monitor individual knowledge levels, behaviour patterns and understanding of the ever-evolving techniques used by cyber criminals.

The combined service helps businesses to reduce the risk of cyber threats with improved understanding, increased impact and greater cost effectiveness.

The investment in CybSafe will see RFS - the Swindon-based regulatory consultancy - take an increased interest in cyber security, awareness and risk. This complements RFS’ fast-growing financial crime arm and the services provided by CCAS, a RFS subsidiary offering consumer credit advisory services.

Michael Couzens, Managing Director at RFS, said: “We are delighted to have made an equity investment in CybSafe.

“As organisations and regulators alike grapple with the constant threat of cyber-attacks, CybSafe provides a proprietary technological platform with a strong person-to-person focus.

“We are very much looking forward to working with the fantastic team at CybSafe to further solidify their unique position in the market, and to help our clients protect and educate their workforce.”

Oz Alashe, CEO and Founder of CybSafe, adds: “Businesses now realise that their own staff represent their greatest security vulnerability, but it’s a problem that is costly and difficult to address. CybSafe transforms cyber awareness training from a box-ticking exercise into an immersive, recurring experience that positively changes security-related behaviour and delivers an immediate return on investment.

“CybSafe complements RFS’ business and I am excited to welcome them as a partner.

“The investment will be used for talent acquisition and product development, while jointly taking the CybSafe platform to new customers in financial services.”

RFS and Torchlight are two leading Swindon-based companies. Both have successfully appeared in the latest FT 1000 Europe’s Fastest Growing Companies and in the 2016 Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100.
