New Paths for Women in Business is the theme of this year’s keynote presentation at the Swindon & Wiltshire Women in Business Conference, announced today by local business support organisation The Enterprise Network.

Giving the keynote will be Ann Padley, from Bristol University’s Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, who works to help business leaders understand and harness creativity and innovation.

Ann has worked on both sides of the Atlantic, helping businesses large and small achieve their goals and develop in ways they never thought possible. From tackling social isolation to improving customer focus, the insights and techniques gained from modern research have opened new routes to success.

“It’s so easy to feel overwhelmed or stuck in a rut when you’re in business,” she said. “I work to find ways to help businesswomen get unstuck - to be creative about overcoming hurdles and developing new ways of achieving success.”

In her presentation, Ann will describe some novel ways to develop business and move forward with new ideas. Expect something a little different as she shows us how we can harness innovation and creativity to great effect.

The conference is celebrating International Women’s Day, showcasing entrepreneurial talent from across Swindon and Wiltshire and providing a forum for learning, sharing and connecting.

With a packed programme of speakers, interactive workshops, networking and exhibitions, the event will build on the success of previous years to provide support, advice and motivation.

Jol Rose, development officer at The Enterprise Network said: “We are delighted that Ann will be joining us to speak at the Women in Business Conference. Her practical experience helping businesses, combined with the research that she has done into innovation and creativity, will shine a light on issues we all face in business.”

“The aim of the day is to create a collaborative environment. We want to help people build lasting connections as well as to provide great advice that can help businesses on the road to success”.

The Women in Business Conference takes place on March 8 at the Bowood Hotel and Spa. Tickets cost £37 per person which includes lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
