A LOGISTICS company based in Swindon has won safety awards for its efforts to help reduce accidents on the roads.

The Connect Group, which have a network of 76 distribution centres across the UK and the HQ at Rowan House, Swindon, won ten gold standard awards from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

Connect Group brands Smiths News, a newspaper and magazine wholesale, and Tuffnells contributed to the achievement.

Connect Group chief operating officer, Jonathan Bunting said: “Two years ago, Smiths News won four golds at the RoSPA awards and we were thrilled with the result.

“Now, after continued investment and a commitment to health and safety standards, we have now achieved an incredible 10 gold standards across our brands, something we are very proud of.

“At Connect Group, the safety and wellbeing of our co-workers, and those at all of our locations is paramount to us, and these awards recognise the changes we are putting in place to ensure that continues.”

He added: “We still recognise that health and safety is always changing, and so we must always adapt. Our progress is clear, and we will continue striving to achieve even more.”
