A SWINDON-based events company has announced the promotion of Kim Collins to the new role of chief operating officer.

Kim has shown determination and progressed in her career since starting in the meetings and events industry 20 years ago as restaurant manager at Hilton Hotels, before joining Venues Event Management in 2004. The growth of Venues and Events International has led to the creation of the role of chief operating officer. It became clear there was a requirement for a more senior role to manage the operational teams, ensuring they are aligned to the strategic direction of business set out by the board.

Kim’s history and loyalty with Venues and Events International’s CEO, Anita Lowe, saw her join the company in February as Sage account director. Having successfully delivered the Sage events programme over the last six months, Kim has also recently worked with the team to re-introduce the company core values.

Kim said: “I believe I’ll be able to drive the business forward to ensure we continue to provide high-levels of customer service and deliver memorable events.”

Venues and Events International is based at Lotmead Business Park.
