POLICE are appealing for information after a van driver from Swindon was assaulted after parking in The Mead, Westbury.

The van driver was outside his vehicle between 5-6pm on Thursday, December 11, when a man approached him and assaulted him.

He fell to the ground, but another vehicle pulled in and sounded its horn and the offender ran to a white Ford Transit van and sped off.

The victim, a 38-year-old man from Swindon, was not seriously injured.

The offender is described as of Asian appearance, aged in his late forties, 6ft 2ins tall and of medium build.

He had black messy hair and was wearing a waist-length black jacket and dark-coloured jeans.

Officers want to speak to anyone who has information about the attack, in particular the driver of the van which pulled up while the victim was on the ground, as this person may have information which could help.
