A nautical Australia Day tribute has been paid on the Kennet & Avon Canal.
Sydney’s founding father, Admiral Arthur Phillips, is said to be buried at St Nicholas' Church, Bathampton, so a canal boat carrying an image of the Australian flag set off for the village from Foxhangers Canal Boat Holidays, Devizes, in tribute.
Phillips, who later became the first Governor of New South Wales, sailed into Port Jackson, now Sydney Harbour, in 1788.
