BOTH Tuesday and Wednesday’s weather broke temperature records for west Wiltshire.
Wednesday was the hottest July day since 2006, at 32.9C, and Tuesday’s temperature at 28.9C just topping the 2014 June record of 29.2C.
For all of June temperatures were above average, according to the latest data recorded by amateur weatherman Geoff Witts at his home in Steeple Ashton on behalf of Wiltshire Council.
Rainfall levels were half the average for the month and the coldest day in June saw temperatures dip to 15.4C.
Public Health England have urged people that, due to the prolonged high temperatures, they should look out for those who may feel the ill-effects of hot weather.
