CHANGES to the opening hours for household recycling centres (HRCs) in Wiltshire take place from Monday.

HRCs' opening hours will be 10am to 4pm on each day they are open.

All sites will be open on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, which are the days when usage is at its highest, along with two extra days each week.

These additional days will be on the same days each week for individual sites but will vary from site to site, in order to ensure that residents have access to at least one household recycling centre within their area - north, south, east or west Wiltshire - seven days a week.

Wiltshire Council officers visited HRC sites throughout last weekend to advise site users of the changes and distribute leaflets outlining the new arrangements.

Coun Toby Sturgis, cabinet member with responsibility for strategic planning, property, waste and strategic housing, said: “I would encourage residents to note the revised opening days and hours for their local HRC from 13 July.

"We have worked hard to find a solution which means that the centres will be open at the busiest times."
