ANGUS Macpherson, the Conservative candidate in Wiltshire’s police and crime commissioner election, has signed a pledge to conduct a fair campaign.
And now he is calling on his competition to do likewise.
The county-wide poll takes place on November 15 and the other candidates are Labour’s Clare Moody, Lib Dem Paul Batchelor, John Short for UKIP, and independents Colin Skelton and Liam Silcocks.
In his Clean Campaign Mr Macpherson promises, among other things, to be honest about police budgets, and not to scaremonger in ways that might frighten the most vulnerable, not to do anything to compromise the political impartiality of Wiltshire Police, to refrain from personal attacks and to make only honest and reasonable promises.
Mr Macpherson said: “I will not make promises that I cannot deliver.”
