JAHMENE Douglas has sung his way into the X Factor head-to-head final to keep his chances of winning the show alive.

Whittled down from thousands, Jahmene made it through to the live shows conquering his nerves.

He got stronger as the live shows progressed, never finding himself in the bottom two on the way to the final in Manchester.

Jahmene came through mic problems tonight to book his place in the head-to-head final with James Arthur tomorrow.

He opened the show, in front of 10,000 people, and came out fighting in his bid to beat James Arthur and Christopher Maloney.

Dressed in a glitzy jacket Jahmene ‘shook his tail-feather’ with the up-beat number ‘Move on Up’ by Curtis Mayfield.

His performance was praised by judges, but Gary Barlow said he was left unconvinced by the song choice.

Louis Walsh said: “I’ve watched you grow as a person and you’ve got your confidence back.

“As a role model you’re an amazing person and I hope people vote for you.

“You remind me of a little Luther Vandross.”

Gary said: “Well done Jahmene, I wasn’t a massive fan of the song choice to be honest, it didn’t give you a chance to shine.

“For the last ten weeks you have really shown everyone what a brilliant singer you are.”

Jahmene enjoyed the performance though which gave him the chance to show he had the moves as well as an amazing voice.

“That was insane, I am just glad to do an up tempo song for once and loosen up,” he said.

"I want to win this to prove to people no matter your struggle you can succeed.

“I can’t believe I have made it through to the final three, I want people to see there is a fighter in me, I want to win this.”

Kelly Clarkson, Kylie Minogue, and Rita Ora all took to the stage as part of the two hour finale.

The show started with the X Factor rejects, who were re-united with Jahmene in Manchester this weekend, and are also backing the Swindon vocalist.

When asked who they wanted to win the final Lucy Spraggan said: “Jahmene - because he is one of the most beautiful and caring people I have ever met.”

Jade Ellis, who performed in Swindon’s Bushwacker club, described Jahmene as a younger brother to her and said: “My favourite is James, however I would love Jahmene to win the X Factor, I think he would be an absolutely perfect winner.”

Jahmene and Nicole battled through mic problems in their duet, but that did not put the pair off, and they came through to belt out Whitney Houston’s ‘The Greatest Love of All’.

Jahmene said: “My first audition when I first stepped out the first thing I saw was Nicole’s smile, it was just incredible.

“The more I have got to know Nicole the more I have realised she is just like my big sister.”

Jahmene was left speechless when Dermot O’Leary announced his name as the first person through to the head-to-head, as Christopher Maloney was booted off.

Jahmene has been supported by thousands in Swindon who have been voting tonight.

Timothy Walome, senior pastor at Bible Life, was in Manchester for the final and said: “We have all been voting for Jahmene, and we believe he will win it.

“We are so proud he has made it through.”

Marlene Russell, of Victoria News, said: “He deserves this, he is brilliant.

“Even if he doesn’t win he will have a career I am certain of that, and I can’t wait to buy his album.”
