JAHMENE Douglas has been pitch perfect on the X Factor so far – and didn’t look too bad on a football pitch in filming for tomorrow’s Soccer AM TV programme.

The 21-year-old Swindon singer was dubbed a dead-ringer for Arsenal’s Theo Walcott by fellow hopefuls as he took part in the Sky show’s trademark crossbar challenge.

After an early start the contestants were greeted at Brentford FC’s Griffin Park by presenter Rocket and invited to try and hit the mark from the halfway line.

Rylan Clark provided the commentary while Middlesbrough fan James Arthur provided the laughs by slipping over during his turn on Wednesday.

Manchester United fan Kye Sones said: “I’m a huge fan of Soccer AM so coming down to compete in Crossbar Challenge was a dream. Rocket and the lads are funny guys, and it was good to get onto a pitch for a kick-around in such a busy week ahead of the second live show.

"I’m gutted I missed the crossbar, but I think I definitely would have got it with a second go!”

Jahmene also told his followers on Twitter how much he enjoyed the challenge. “Note to the judges: Sign him up!” he said. Tune in to Sky Sports 2 HD or Sky One from 10am to see how the contestants got on.
