Caroline Taggart has words of advice in her book
Caroline Taggart has words of advice in her book

BUDDING JK Rowlings were given a sneak preview of the latest advice from publishing professionals hot off the press.

Caroline Taggart, the editor of Writer's Market UK - which is only officially out today - talked about her role as a publisher and advised people on how aspiring writers could get a foot in the door.

Caroline said writing the piece was only half the battle.

The key to success, she believed, was asking yourself why this book, why now and why me.

She believes writers should find something they want to write about that will also have mass appeal.

"You can survive without us, you can write for yourselves," she said.

"Without the writers, the publishing world would simply die."
