Chapel Farm Landfill Site has temporarily closed after attempts to combat odours coming from the site and drifting over North Swindon failed to improve the situation. More to follow.

Police are seeking information following the discovery of a large amount of cannabis in Swindon. Full story here.




Further to that meeting on Regent Circus, which was prompted by the closure of this 19th Century Baptist chapel. 

Minutes from the meeting confirm builders ISG have stabilised the building and it is now safe. Swindon Council's Building Control confirmed that in their opinion the building will not collapse. ISG intend to return to the chapel once the Regent Circus site work has been complete and undertake major remedial work that will allow the chapel to be used as a place of worship.

The funeral of Ashley Mckinnon, the 17-year-old who died after falling from the top of the Wyvern car park last month, takes place at 11am today.
