The man who was threatening to jump from the Wyvern multi-storey car park was talked down by police an hour ago.

Swindon-based building society Nationwide have been getting ready for Pride this weekend after hoisting the rainbow flag outside their headquarters in Pipers Way.






Police are appealing for the public’s help in locating Dzung Nguyen, 20, in connection with an attempted murder in the Town Gardens, on July 24. 



Police are currently at the Wyvern multi storey car park, where they are speaking to a man who is causing them concern. 

As a result, they have closed off Islington Street. Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.


Islington Street is closed due to a police incident and is likely to remain closed for an hour. More information to follow.

Children's charity Barnardos has opened its first 'donation centre' in Swindon, at Cavendish Square in Park South this morning.

The donation centre is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 6pm, and eventually on Sundays from 10am to 4pm.


The Prospect Hospice Lottery draw has been held today. The winner of the £1,000 prize money is number 41008.
