RESIDENTS of Royal Wootton Bassett are being invited to help the town’s bid to become a dementia-friendly community.
A meeting will be held to explain how the town can ensure people with dementia have the confidence to know they can contribute and participate in activities that are meaningful to them.
To gain the status, the town needs to ensure it has respectful and responsive businesses and services, and that it promotes awareness of dementia in all shops, businesses and services.
In addition, all staff must demonstrate understanding and know how to recognise symptoms.
People can also sign up to become dementia friends and learn more about what it’s like to live with the condition.
To book a place at the meeting, visit alzheimers.dementiafriends.org.uk/websession, call Allison Bucknell on 01793 854421 or email Allison.bucknell@wiltshire.gov.uk
