STAFF and punters at the Brookhouse Farm pub put pedal to the metal to raise much-needed funds for charity yesterday.

There was a static bicycle set up at the Middleleaze Drive pub, which is part of the Hungry Horse chain, which selected the Macmillan Cancer Support as their fundraising beneficiary for the year.

As the chain is celebrating it’s 20th anniversary, the event was part of a plan to raise £20,000 this year through a serious of fundraisers.

Charlie Chesterman, pub manager, said: “It was hard work but our customers have been giving donations and support as they go past.”

The fundraising concluded with a rock’n’roll bingo event.

Last year, staff at Brookhouse Farm raised more than £1,000 for Macmillan by running 100 miles on a treadmill in the pub. Visit www.facebook.com/ brookhouse.farm.
