A SOLICITOR has blasted a prison after they failed to produce his client so a probation officer could make a report on him.
Crack dealer Alan Harris, 40, had been remanded in custody at his own request as he was a homeless drug addict.
But when he was due to have a presentence report compiled Harris was not brought by prison officers at HMP Bullingdon until it was too late.
Rob Ross, defending, said the author of the report had been led to believe that his client wouldn't come to the appointment.
But he said that couldn't be further from the truth as he wanted the report and had been asked to be remanded in the first place.
"Mr Harris is happy to speak to the probation service," he said.
"What happened was very simple: he wasn't asked to go to the appointment, He has no way of getting himself from the cell to the appointment because he is banged up 22 hours a day."
Criticising the prison, he added: "I am not being flippant, we have had so many problems with them."
Recorder Simon Levene adjourned the case to Thursday, April 2, so a report could be prepared.
Harris, formerly of Lyndhurst Crescent, Park North, admitted supplying the drug on Thursday, May 29, last year.
