MARION SAUVEBOIS looks ahead to rockers’ headline performance at Lechlade Festival
LEGENDARY rock band Status Quo are poised to headline Lechlade Music Festival tomorrow.
Led by Rick Parfitt and Francis Rossi, the rockers have been notching up hit records for more than 50 golden years.
They hold the record for more hit singles than any other band both internationally and in the UK chart history — a staggering 64 in Britain.
Quo favourites include Down Down, Matchstick Men, Rocking All Over The World, Paper Plane and many others.
Last year, the band’s latest UK album Aquostic (Stripped Bare) spent six weeks in the album charts.
Lechlade Music Festival director Jennie Rainsford said: “I can’t describe how excited we are to welcome Status Quo.
“This is a real turning point for Lechlade and helps us to consolidate the hard work that’s gone into the last four years.
“Status Quo are legendary and they always put on a fantastic show. Tickets are selling fast.’’
l The festival will run from tomorrow until Sunday. Tickets are £77 with camping for the weekend. Visit lechladefestival.co.uk or go to facebook.com/lechladefestival.
