Do you cook a lot yourself? What is your failsafe dish?

I do, but not to the standard of the restaurant! Like most people I love good home-cooked meals. My failsafe dish if I have friends or family over is Tagliatelle Carbonara.

Where do you like to eat out? How often?

I love to eat out; it’s a bit of a geeky hobby of mine. I like to go to Michelin-starred restaurants to see what they’re cooking. I love the quality of service, produce and ambience you get. But again you can’t do that once a week, so I have a few places I like to go to: the Star at Sparsholt and the Highworth Hotel. There’s also a great Chinese takeaway round the corner from my house.

What do you always hope to find on a menu? For starter? Main course? Dessert?

I’m a sucker for calamari as a starter, a good rib eye steak and I always think you can judge a restaurant on their vanilla crème brûlée.

Which foods did you hate as a child? Do you eat them now?

There’s only one thing that I don’t like to eat which I think was brought on from when I was a child…eggs! I can’t stand the smell or taste of scrambled, fried, boiled etc. I’m not allergic but just don’t eat them in that form.

What is your favourite drink? Alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

My favourite alcoholic drink is a gin and tonic, but I’m very particular about the gin and the tonic - they have to be good! Non-alcoholic would have to be a coffee.

Marmite: yes or no?

Yes! How can you hate it?!!

What is your guilty pleasure when it comes to food... something you know you shouldn’t eat, but do anyway?

Pizza all day long, with extra pepperoni.

You are on your own at home watching a film. What is your snack of choice?

Savoury: salt and vinegar crisps. Sweet: Butterkist toffee popcorn.

You’re eating a bacon sandwich...ketchup, brown sauce or nothing at all Brown sauce for me.
