A CITY worker who fell to his death from the tenth storey of his offices in London has been named as Josh Jones, who used to live in Blunsdon.

Josh, whose family still live near Swindon, had been working as a graduate at London’s South Bank before he plunged to his death last Thursday night in front of aghast shoppers and workers.

After graduating from the University of Surrey, the 23-year-old had spent a work placement at PwC accountancy firm, where he later secured a place on the graduate scheme.

It is thought Josh had fallen from the roof terrace of the tower block at around 7.45pm, and tributes have since been left at the scene by friends and co-workers devastated by the tragedy.

A keen football fan, Josh has been remembered with Liverpool FC shirts, alongside flowers and cards of condolence.

A book has also been opened at the scene for messages to be left in his memory.

Josh had been the former captain of Surrey Spartans Hockey Club, who paid tribute to their skipper and friend yesterday.

A statement on the club’s Facebook page reads: “It is with great sadness we say goodbye to former captain Josh Jones.

“A team mate to some. A great friend to many more.

Gone too soon but will never be forgotten.”

The Metropolitan Police have said they are not treating the death as suspicious after Josh was pronounced dead at the scene on Thursday evening.

A Met Police spokeswoman said: “Police were called to More London Riverside at 7.44pm following reports of a man fallen from a building.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a man in his twenties suffering from critical injuries.

“The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The death has been deemed non-suspicious.

“Next of kin have been notified.

The case has been referred to the Coroner.”
