A MUM who attacked a teenage love rival after sending her a threatening Facebook message written in street slang has been spared a jail term.

Jessica Dimino launched a violent attack on the 17-year-old, who had enjoyed a fling with her man, after spotting her walking along a pathway on Tuesday, February 3.

The 24-year-old, who 'came out of nowhere', punched her hard to the face sending her reeling, and leaving her covered in blood, before pinching her purse.

But after hearing the woman now had a two-month-old son with the man and was getting help for her mental health problems a judge imposed a community order.

Derek Perry, prosecuting, told Swindon Crown Court: "There was a history of discord and animosity between the defendant and the complainant."

In late 2014 he said the defendant and her boyfriend, called Tyler, had split for a while and he had a fling with the victim before they got back together.

Soon after Dimino sent a Facebook message to the younger girl which started off calling her a 'Dutty Junge', which is street talk meaning dirty slag.

It went on to warn her to stay away from her boyfriend calling her a 'Bozz eyed little yat', which means cross eyed woman.

She then threatened 'I beg you don't see me catch u slipping im a violate u. Real talk'.

Mr Perry said: "The reference to the threat to 'violate' her if she were to catch her 'slipping', it meaning being off guard.

"On the evening the teenager was walking along a pathway, alone, listening to music on headphones.

"She noticed a young lady walking towards he, it was this defendant. She came out of nowhere and punched her to the face making her head fall backwards."

The victim felt her head and realised she was bleeding as the two girls then tussled over her handbag.

The defendant then picked up the victim's purse, which contained just a bank car and bus pass, and mobile, throwing the phone at her cracking the screen, as she fled.

Dimino, of Castleton Road, Middleaze, pleaded guilty to theft and common assault.

The court heard she had previous convictions and cautions for common assault and theft.

Sam Arif, defending, said she was now back with Tyler and they had two-month-old son together.

At the time of the attack she said that she was in the early stages of pregnancy and spotted the victim when she was out in the car and 'saw red and attacked her'.

In the aftermath she said the teenager had also been making comments on social media suggesting she was looking to get £400 compensation for it.

She said he client had expressed remorse for what she had done and is working to address her mental health issues.

Passing sentence Judge Tim Mousley QC said: "I accept you didn't go out looking for her, so it wasn't planned, but once you chanced upon her you attacked her in the way I have been told about and was vulnerable to a degree in the face of that onslaught."

He imposed a one year community order with rehabilitation, told her to pay £200 compensation with a two year restraining order to keep her away from the victim.
