POLICE are appealing for witnesses after three people attacked a woman in Penhill yesterday afternoon while she was walking her dog.

She was walking her dog between 2.15pm and 2.30pm along her usual route, which included an alleyway off Downton Road, leading to The Valleys.

She noticed three people - two men and a woman - walking towards her from the other end of the alleyway as she turned into it.

All three assaulted the woman suffered bruising to her arms and legs and a black eye.

The first man was white, skinny, 5ft 7ins to 5ft 8ins tall, with dark hair under a black Adidas zip-up hoodie.

He was also wearing dark tracksuit bottoms. He was in his late 20s and spoke with a Swindon accent.

The second man was white, skinny, 5ft 7ins to 5ft 8ins tall. He was wearing a dark coloured hoodie with dark coloured tracksuit bottoms.

He is also said to be in his late 20s and spoke with a Swindon accent.

The female was white, skinny and about 5ft 4ins in height.

She had blonde hair, which was tied up in a ponytail, and was wearing a navy blue/black jumper with a small pink logo on the left breast.

She looked younger than the men and also spoke with a Swindon accent.

PC Beckie Diamon said: "This was a nasty attack, which appears to be unprovoked.

"We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in this area at this time.
