A WOMAN has avoided immediate custody after admitting breaching her Asbo preventing her from having contact with a pensioner on six occasions.

Terri-Lee Peace, 33, of Woodsman Road, pleaded guilty to all of the charges put to her that she breached the terms of her Asbo, which has been in place since January 2013. This also put her in breach of a community order imposed on July 27 for similar offences.

She is banned from having contact with a named man or going to his address. But the court heard that between July 11 and August 23 she breached that Asbo six times.

Sentencing her, the magistrates imposed a 12-week prison sentence which they suspended for 12 months.

During the next year she must also complete a drug-rehabilitation order and pay a £115 victim surcharge.

A woman charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine has been sent for trial at Swindon Crown Court.

Dawn Tooze, 29, of Walter Close, is alleged to have been involved with three other people in supplying the drugs at Junction 16 of the M4 on April 30 last year. She was granted unconditional bail at the hearing before Swindon magistrates on September 21.

A man has been fined after he admitted stealing more than £300 of goods from Asda on two separate occasions.

Samuel Grace, 52, of Ruskin Avenue, pleaded guilty to stealing household items and groceries from Asda North Swindon valued at £268.45 on August 22.

Just days earlier on August 17 he had been caught stealing a coat and groceries valued at £35 from the same store.

Magistrates sitting in Swindon fined him £140 and ordered he pay a £30 victim surcharge along with £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Methadone user Alan Brown was given an 18-month conditional discharge at Swindon Magistrates’ Court after he admitted stealing Glade candles and washing tablets from the Esso garage in Dorcan Way.

Brown, 46, of Tudor Walk, who has 49 convictions for 158 separate offences, was told by District Judge Simon Cooper that he could not revert to his old ways.

He ordered Brown to pay £35.92 compensation, a £20 victim surcharge and court costs of £35.

A teenager who failed to stop after an accident which injured another person has been fined and banned from driving for four months.

James Dolton, 18, of Woodbury Close, Nine Elms, pleaded guilty to the offence on Sunday, June 26. He left the scene after the 54-plate Seat Ibiza he was driving along Devizes Road at the junction with Wood Street was involved in an accident which caused injury to a man. 

He further pleaded guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis.

Magistrates banned him from driving for four months and ordered he pay a fine of £230 along with £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service along with a £30 victim surcharge.

No compensation was ordered as the matter was being dealt with by insurance companies.

Thames Valley Police has charged a man with drugs offences in Faringdon and Shrivenham.

Andrew Keen, 45, of Longcot Road, Shrivenham, was charged on Thursday with one count of possession with intent to supply a class B drug, one count of production of a class B drug and one count of possession with intent to supply a class B drug.

The charges are in connection with incidents on March 16, and June 1 last year.

Keen was bailed to appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on November 1.

A man has been fined for wilfully obstructing a police officer.

Jake Titchener, 29, of Clanfields Road, Park North, admitted the offence dating from February 17 when he came before magistrates in Swindon.

He was ordered to pay a fine of £140 along with £85 to the CPS and a £30 victim surcharge.

A man has been ordered to complete a drug rehabilitation order after making off with 14 rib-eye steaks.

Graham Williams, 28, of no fixed abode, admitted the theft of the steak valued at £72 from Aldi in West Swindon at Swindon Magistrates’ Court.

He was sentenced to a 12 month community order, during which he must complete a drug dependency treatment and was ordered to pay an £85 victim surcharge.
