THE RUSSIAN State Ballet bring us not one but two classics next week with a double-bill of Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty.
Swan Lake is arguably one of the most loved - and challenging - ballets, in no small part thanks to Tchaikovsky’s instantly recognisable and timeless music, and iconic ‘Dance des Petits Cygnes’.
From the splendour of the palace ballroom to the moonlit lake where swans glide in perfect formation, it has captured the imagination of generations of spectators.
Stunning choreography, sumptuous costumes and sets form the fantasy world in which the Lilac Fairy battles against the evil Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty.
Set to another score by Tchaikovsky, it tells a compelling story of love and innocence, mystery and magic.
Swan Lake appears at the Wyvern Theatre on Tuesday 25 at 7.30pm, followed by Sleeping Beauty at 7.30pm on Wednesday. Tickets start at £32. To book call 01793 524 481 or visit swindontheatres.co.uk.
