A TOUCH of the Artic comes to Swindon's Brunel Centre on Sunday when Bjorn, a life-size polar bear will be teaching youngsters fun facts about its habitat at The Polar Bear Show.

The bear that moves, blinks and makes noises will be in a specially built inflatable ice-sculpture and children will have the opportunity to interact and have their photograph taken.

There will be the chance to learn what polar bears eat, how to tell their star sign and how they stay warm.

The lifelike bear will be accompanied by its 'keeper' who will be giving a lively and informative commentary.

Di Powell inSwindon BID Manager said: “We are really looking forward to Bjorn visiting the town centre and offering something really unique to delight visitors.

The Polar Bear Show will blow you away with its likeness to a real polar bear. Children and shoppers will also a get chance to interact and learn more about polar bears and their natural habitat”.

And the fun doesn’t stop there. To add a little sparkle in the lead up to Christmas, children will be invited to make a pit stop at the face paint booth. From tigers and butterflies to fairy princesses, elves and yes, polar bears, there will be no design too wacky or outlandish for the seasoned facepainting artist.

There are three special sessions at 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm, in the Brunel Shopping, The Arcade, next to Sue Ryder.
