X FACTOR hopeful Shania Carver from Wroughton sings for survival in tonight's show.

The 21-year-old entered the competition as part of girl group Lemonade after meeting the other members and forming the group just a few months ago.

During last week's emotional Six Chair Challenge, the band won a coveted seat only to have it snatched away by another girl group.

Lemonade then had to compete in a sing-off against boy band JBK to secure a spot in Simon Cowell's group category.

In the judges' houses round of the popular talent competition, Shania, along with her bandmates, Saffron, Yemii, Chilee, and Mya, flew to France to sing in Simon's lavish Nice mansion and prove to the music mogul and guest judge Cheryl Tweedy that they deserve to go through to the live shows.

Their journey will be broadcast to millions of viewers across the nation tonight on itv at 8.20pm.

Shania was over the moon to have made it this far.

She said: “I'm so excited, I’m speechless.

“I used to stay at home on Saturdays and watch X Factor, I can’t believe I’m here now.

“I’ve deferred the year at university for this competition so I can pursue my dream and hopefully it works out."

The judges' houses stage of the competition has already been filmed and Shania talked about her experience while tiptoeing around any spoilers that would reveal the judges' decision.

She said: “We sang in the most beautiful location in this insane house in the south of France that was absolutely huge.

"It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and we loved it, it was amazing."
