Swindon South Police have advised drivers that the A346 is now passable between Chiseldon and Ogbourne St George, but drivers are being urged to take care.

A spokesman for the neihgbourhood team said: "The A346 between Chiseldon and Ogbourne St George is now passable with care, but we are urging motorists who use this route to be very cautious.

"Also, please use the route that has been created by Wiltshire Council as this will allow the grit to work properly."

A Met Office spokesman said there was further snow to come, and it would remain windy and bitterly cold.

Meanwhile, highways England has called on drivers to clear the snow off their cars before setting off.
