Charity wants your unwanted items

PEOPLE spring cleaning their homes are being invited to donate any unwanted items to charity today.

Staff at Swindon Garden Centre on Hyde Road in Stratton St Margaret are holding a Don’t Dump, Donate day from 11am until 3pm in aid of Prospect Hospice’s charity shops.

Renato Marturano, pictured, the garden centre manager, said: “Prospect Hospice has 11 charity shops and we thought it would be a great idea to invite customers to bring in their good quality clothes, books, china, bric-a-brac, toys, home furnishings and jewellery to donate.

“Staff and volunteers from the hospice will be on hand to collect the items and chat to customers about the valuable work they do.”

Prospect Hospice provides dedicated end of life care for patients in Swindon, Marlborough and north east Wiltshire. It has developed a range of services, which aim to provide specialist care and support whenever and wherever it is needed.
