DO YOU think you’ve got what it takes to be a beauty queen?

The Miss England organisation is looking for a winner to send to Miss World 2010 and will be holding photo auditions in Swindon at the end of the month.

Entrants need to be aged 17 to 24 and live work or study in the Wiltshire area to be in the running for one of two titles – Miss Swindon and Miss Wiltshire.

“We are looking for contestants who are not only photogenic and attractive in face and figure but also have good communication skills, confidence and charm,” said organiser Rhona Shafik.

The auditions will be held on Sunday, March 28, at Liquid & Envy nightclub, with the winners being decided at another event in front of a panel of judges including Miss England 2009/10 Katrina Hodge in May.

“Winning the title of Miss Wiltshire or Miss Swindon will bring a host of new opportunities to the two winners,” said Rhona.

“The winner of Miss Swindon will compete in the semi-final at Champneys Health Spa in June for a place in the grand final in September in London and the winner of Miss Wiltshire, will win direct entry to the final.”

The winner of Miss Swindon 2009, Sherie Smith, 22, missed out on taking part in the grand final last year but Miss Wiltshire Elishma Fernandez, 21, took part in the event in London.

The reigning Miss England 2009 Katrina Hodge is a soldier in the Army and has been commended for bravery in Iraq. She took part in Miss World in South Africa and has been allowed six months off by the MOD to fulfil her duties as Miss England Enter online at www.miss england.info, phone Rhona on 0116 277 3485/07801 966932, or email missenglandheats organiser@googlemail.com
