Make a date with these great photos

A SNOWY setting at Foxhill earlier this year has helped bag photographer Barry Young the front cover of a fundraising calendar for Prospect Hospice.

Barry, of West Swindon, won the hospice’s photographic competition to submit a landscape shot for the calendar, and has won himself £50 of photographic vouchers from the charity.

Barry said: “It nearly didn’t happen as the roads leading there were treacherous that day.”

He was presented with his vouchers by Charly Rich, Prospect’s head of retail, last week.

Charly said: “Barry’s photo was one of many that were singled out for their excellent depiction of the beauty of the region served by Prospect Hospice.

“We thank him and all the photographers who supported the project, and also the Swindon Advertiser for their support again this year.”

The calendar, which goes on sale at the Wroughton hospice’s garden fete on Saturday, will raise funds to support patients and families cared for by Prospect.

The images used in the calendar were submitted by local photographers to the Adver, and many of them featured on the letters page during May this year.

The final selection of the 13 images used in the calendar was made by patients who visit the hospice each week.

The calendar costs £3.95 and will be on sale at Prospect’s shops.
