Police have identified the man who died on Tuesday night as 50-year-old Terrance Geoffrey John Curtis.
Mr Curtis was found unconscious at an address in Westcott Place, Swindon, and later died at the Great Western Hospital.
A post mortem examination found Mr Curtis died from head injuries.
Two men arrested on suspicion of his murder have been released on police bail without charge after spending 36 hours in custody at Swindon Gablecross Police Station.
