A TEENAGE motorcyclist is said to be in a serious condition in hospital after he crashed into a roundabout.
The rider, a 19-year-old local male, crashed into the roundabout on Tewkesbury Way at the junction with Pevensey Way shortly before 11.40am this morning.
He was riding a green Kawasaki ZX9R motorbike when the incident happened.
Another motorcyclist, who was not involved in the accident, was driving from the direction of the Mannington roundabout but stopped at the scene and called for an ambulance.
The injured rider was rushed to the Great Western Hospital (GWH) where he is said to be in a serious condition.
Police officers and specialist collision investigators closed the road in one direction for more than three-and-a-half-hours while they conducted a thorough investigation.
Officers of the Serious Collision Investigation Team , based in Chippenham, are now calling on anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
