PETER Wragg, chairman of VisitWiltshire, has been appointed to the board of the newly-created Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership.
The partnership plays a central role in determining local economic priorities, undertaking activities to drive economic growth and the creation of local jobs.
It is also a key vehicle in delivering Government objectives for economic development and decentralisation.
Mr Wragg said: “Our tourism priorities for the LEP will be to focus on sustaining and creating jobs, increasing tourism visits and spend and raising our brand awareness.
“It is my goal to ensure that the needs of VisitWiltshire members are at the forefront of all activity undertaken via the LEP.
“I will also be ensuring that members of VisitWiltshire can continue to develop and maintain sustainable businesses through the activity and funding that we will be looking to secure.”
