Wiltshire and Swindon Fire Authority has agreed to freeze its share of the council tax for the coming year.
At a meeting yesterday members adopted a net revenue budget of £25,277,900 for 2012/13.
This 0 per cent increase in council tax means the payment for an average Band D household in Wiltshire and Swindon will remain at £62.38 (or £1.19 per week) for the fire and rescue service.
In return for imposing the freeze, the Fire Authority has accepted a one-off Government grant of £474,000 - equivalent to a three per cent increase in council tax.
